As online education has evolved, we’ve seen two models rise to dominance.
On one end of the spectrum are bootcamps: highly intensive and expensive options that require significant commitment of time and resources for individuals to complete.
On the other end of the spectrum are low-cost offerings that are affordable, but provide little support to learners and often have sub-par results. Most of these learning experiences are a combination of pre-recorded videos or reading materials you can explore on your own time. Uniformly, “inexpensive” has largely meant “little support.”
At Uplimit, we believe this doesn’t need to be the case. That free online education can – and needs to be – high quality to unleash learning opportunities and upward career mobility around the world. Today, we’re excited to announce that we’re launching our first completely free course: SQL Crash Course. And the course is awesome.
The course brings together hundreds of learners from around the world for a two-week learning experience that combines live lectures, project-focused sessions, office hours with experts, engaging reading materials, and applied projects with a vibrant learning community. The instructor, Sourabh Bajaj, has worked at Google Brain, Neeva, and Coursera, and has designed this course to combine theory with skill development with real application.
This is a course for anyone – in Finance, Marketing, Data Science, Product Management, IT, Engineering – who has ever had to ask a cross-functional partner to pull data for them. Or people who are hoping to land their first job. It will unleash your power to explore and draw insights from data, giving you a tremendously valuable skill in your toolkit. In this course you'll learn the fundamentals of SQL and begin writing queries. At the end of the course you'll be ready to tackle basic questions with SQL, and prepared to thrive in further advanced courses such as Intermediate SQL, Advanced SQL, and our Analytics Engineering Track!
We’re breaking the mold and offering something free that is also full of real-life support, encouragement, and engagement. But don’t take our word for it.
